The Lord God Jesus Christ has given St. Margaret Mary Alacoque the gift of the First Friday devotion and the Holy Hour, so that humanity may worship and honor Him devoutly in the Eucharist as a response to His great and overflowing love for us humans. Since Christ Jesus is Truth Himself, He says to us in His Gospel according to St. John (6:47–48), “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.” Before the Passover, Christ Jesus and His apostles shared the Last Supper, as the Gospel according to St. Mark (14:22–24) says: “While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, ‘Take it; this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, ‘This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many.’”
The Eucharist tells us that Jesus Christ is always with us. He is continuously taking care of His Body, the Church that He built and founded, by feeding them with His very own Body and Blood. He is the cornerstone that the builders of His old covenant rejected, the temple they destroyed but which was built again by Himself on the third day, and the cornerstone of the new covenant that fulfills the old one. Do not let yourselves be deceived by other sects, denominations, religions, and ideologies that are founded by mere humans. Christ Jesus Himself founded His Church with His apostles for a reason.

Receiving the Eucharist is vital for us. Just as, in order to live, one must eat, this is true both physically and spiritually. As Christ continues to say in His Gospel according to St. John (6:49–51): “Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
The Lord God Jesus Christ tells us that in this devotion to His Sacred Heart, He is there in the Eucharist. His Sacred Heart is there, given to us, waiting for us, and He is with us. The Sacrament of Love transforms us and gives life to humanity. Every member of Christ should be aware of this truth and fact: that the Eucharist is Christ’s very own Holy Body and Precious Blood. That our hearts may be enflamed with love like the Sacred Heart of Christ Jesus, flaming in love for us. That our hearts may not suffer from our own coldness and ingratitude. It is right and just to be grateful that the God who created us is good, merciful, compassionate, generous, kind, and loving! The problem is in us, and the solution is God Himself. So, we must conform our wills to His Holy Will, and He is there, waiting, ready to help us at any moment.
Receiving Christ in the Eucharist requires love. We do not just go and eat His Body and drink His Blood. We are eating and drinking because of Love and because we love. God is Love; Love gave us Love, so love should be our response to the Love we received.
